OUR GOVErNORS

Governors are the heart of the self-improving school system. It takes a lot of commitment and a considerable amount of time to fulfill their many responsibilities - it is easy to forget that they are volunteers!

They have 3 core strategic functions:

a.       Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction;

 b.       Holding the headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils

 c.       Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent.

  • Dr Katharine Shelly - Chair of governors

    I have one child who attended Mugginton and is now at secondary school and one child currently in Year 6. Both love the caring and creative nature of the school. I live locally and have enjoyed helping the school at FOMS fundraising events and on their many walks and trips. I am a working GP and aim to support the school with their health and safety and first aid responsibilities.

  • Ms Stacey Archer - Foundation Member; Resources

    I have two children in Mugginton, both in the infant class. I look forward to working with the governors to secure the very best for the children of Mugginton.

  • Dr Louise Blake - Parent Governor

    My eldest child recently joined the reception class and I have a younger son who will soon follow. I have enjoyed helping the school through FOMS fundraising events and look forward to working with the governors to further support the school and its children.

    My background is in higher education and I currently work as a researcher in language, reading and health communication.

  • Ms. Debbie Wallen - Staff governor

    I have worked at Mugginton for over 8 years. I love this school and want to do my best to help all of our children.
